Welcome to the new About.com NASCAR. My name is Matt Weaver and I'm the so-called NASCAR Expert or Guide on the site. For my new readers, it's a pleasure to meet you and give me a holler on Twitter @MattWeaverSBN.
It's an absolute pleasure to be affiliated with such a well-known organization as About.com and I want to send out a hefty thank you to the staff for inviting me on board. I hope this is the start of a long-term professional relationship.
As you guys can tell, I have a lot of housecleaning to do. The About.com NASCAR home page has not been used in quite a while and that's on me to organize and clean up. By the end of May, and after the About.com facelift, I hope to have an easier to navigate splash page.
About NASCAR will be a database for the fans -- a platform to educate people on everything they need to know about NASCAR racing. The site will contain driver biographies, track backgrounds, schedules and best-of lists to help you navigate the world of stock car racing. Again, this is going to take a few weeks so bear with me.
In the meantime, don't hesitate to tell me what sort of content you would like to see on the website. You can do that on Twitter or via email. Look at my bio for the best way to do that.
Remember that this site is not a home for news or editorials. I will be happy to share that with you over at Popular Speed -- my NASCAR news and editorial home, where I am a hard card credentialed media member, having served in that capacity since 2011. About will be a place for the how-tos and whats.
